SHARE THE MAGIC
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we count on the many individuals, corporations and foundations who contribute to Valley Youth Theatre each season. With ticket revenues comprising less than 50% of our budget, it is through the generosity of individual donors, corporate sponsorships and foundations that help to raise the curtain on award-winning theatre.
Your contribution enables VYT to keep ticket prices affordable for every member of our community. Because of our donors, VYT is able to remain fee-free to the youth who attend our auditions and perform in our mainstage productions, ensuring equal access and opportunity to anyone with the desire to perform. Donations provide free and low-cost educational outreach programs for our schools, scholarships, and ensure we maintain the artistic excellence you have come to expect at Valley Youth Theatre.
Valley Youth Theatre believes that money should never be a barrier to a child's transformative performing arts experience. Donations contributed to VYT's general support go to our overall mission of inspiring children to be the best they can be through a wide variety of performing arts opportunities.
Not only does your donation help us provide fee-free participation in productions for the cast, the cornerstone of our theatre, but your support directly provides free performances for Hope Kids, families of children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and reduced prices for school fieldtrips.
With your support we can do our best to eliminate social, economic and medical barriers for Valley kids.
Valley Youth Theatre created the Literacy in the Arts (LTA) program in 1993 to give K-8 students from underresourced schools a page-to-stage experience. Children develop an enthusiasm for reading and enhance their reading comprehension and literacy through live theatre. Every year, between 3,000 and 5,000 students have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of this program which is offered at no cost to teachers and schools in Title 1 and Title 1 Eligible schools due to donations from the community.
Donations for our Literacy and the Arts program pay for a book for each student to keep and take home, a study guide discussing the themes of the book and the stage performance as well as a ticket to a VYT production. Your donation directly supports VYT’s efforts improving literacy among children in Title 1 schools, one of the most direct and viable routes out of poverty and critical to the future of our community.
To commemorate the special talents and unique spirit of Nigel Ross, a victim of domestic violence, on Christmas Eve 2017, Valley Youth Theatre and United Surgical Partners International (USPI) created the Nigel Ross Scholarship Fund.
This fund enables other young performers to attend the summer theatre workshops and classes that Nigel enjoyed so much. Your donation helps a family who thought the gift of a transformative performing arts experience was out of reach for their children.
Through partnerships with more than 40 social service agencies, Valley Youth Theatre provides a special day of theatre, food and fun at the Herberger Theater Center to under-resourced young people. This year, Valley Youth Theatre will host 1,500 children over 2 days for a special production of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka at the Herberger Theater Center.
After the performance, the children get to meet the cast and crew and enjoy a delicious lunch together. Your tax-deductible gift of just $50 sponsors a seat and lunch for one child- having a direct impact on the lives of these children. With 1,500 seats to sponsor consider sponsoring more than one!
VYTal Affair is Valley Youth Theatre’s annual fundraiser featuring a selection of musical numbers and entertainment from our 2023-2024 season performed by our exceptionally talented young performers. All proceeds from VYTal Affair directly support the education and outreach programs and mainstage productions VYT has become known for.
By donating today, you will be directly involved in helping us inspire young people to achieve their full potential through meaningful engagement, education and excellence in the performing arts.
VYT’s Artistic Director’s Circle is an exclusive group of supporters who have decided to increase their level of support, this helps to ensure and increase the reach of our unique programming. As a member, you will be among the first to know new details about VYT happenings, get early access to events and join a social group of people who truly believe in what we do!
Through your investment, our young actors who perform fee-free will continue to receive extensive training in the theatrical arts, bolstering their chances for success in life through higher self-confidence, elevated leadership standards and public speaking skills. We would be honored to have you join the Artistic Director's Circle and help us continue to INSPIRE the youth in our community.
