On Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21, Valley Youth Theatre will present its annual Sponsor-A-Seat event. Through partnerships with more than 40 social service agencies like UMOM, Boys and Girls Clubs, Chicanos Por La Causa, Down Syndrome Network, the Salvation Army and Free Arts of Arizona, Valley Youth Theatre provides a special day of theatre and excitement to under-resourced young people.
This year, Valley Youth Theatre will host 1,500 children to a special production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka at the Herberger Theater Center. After the show, the children have the ‘golden’ opportunity to meet the cast and crew, collecting autographs like prized Wonka bars, followed by a delicious lunch. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all involved
